The Polls Have Closed – Event-Driven Programming in the Cloud with Azure Event Grid
Modern Cloud Computing solutions often rely on establishing connections between multiple services; this is especially true for so-called Serverless solutions. These connections take multiple forms, including the need for one service to be notified and to react when something significant occurs in another. However, being made aware of these events often involves polling for state changes or setting up complex webhook solutions. Azure Event Grid provides a simpler solution, acting as the glue which will connect your services together across event notifications. This talk will introduce Azure Event Grid and will show how you can use it in your cloud-based solutions to both publish and react to events without resorting to costly polling or complex webhook implementations.
